8 Bit Funding
I recently stumbled across a website for small indie developers called “8 Bit Funding,” which you can find at www.8bitfunding.com.
8 Bit Funding is a small micro-donation site that you can use to donate to independent video game developers. If you check out their front page you can list games sorted by recently added, most popular, and featured. You can also see how much money each developer is requesting, and how much they have so far, along with a picture of the game (usually the title screen).
If you click on a game you will be taken to it’s individual page where you can see more info on it such as it’s features, how to contact the developer, and more.
8 Bit Funding could be a great way to help out indie game developers that may potentially have some great ideas. Adventure, puzzle, platformers and more all come together in one site. Having everything in one place and information for all the games could help add some validity to the indie game scene, and help ensure that people’s donations actually do go to the right place. It’s good to see something like 8BF up and running, and empowering indie game developers more.
Go check out www.8bitfunding.com if you haven’t already, and maybe even make a donation or two.
